Children shall be prepared for and given the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation before the reception of the Eucharist. This usually happens in the second grade when the child is seven years old, but older children should also be prepared if they have not made their First Reconciliation.
Age for preparation & reception of First Reconciliation: 2nd grade or older, with at least ONE year of immediate catechetical formation prior to the preparation for the sacrament.

At Mass, we remember and celebrate Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Jesus gives Himself to us in Communion. Receiving Christ for the first time should have a lasting effect on the direction of your child’s life. The best preparation for first Communion Day that you can give your child is regular attendance at Mass.

Los niños deben estar preparados y darse la oportunidad de celebrar el Sacramento de Reconciliación antes de la recepción de la eucaristia. Esto por lo general pasa en el segundo grado cuando el niño tiene siete años, pero los niños más grandes también deberían estar preparados si no han hecho su Primera Reconciliación
Edad para la preparación y la recepción de la Primera Reconciliación: 2do grado o más grande, y por lo menos UN año de formación catequética inmediata antes de la preparación para el sacramento

En la misa, recordamos y celebramos la vida de Jesús, la muerte y la resurrección. Jesús se nos da en la Comunión. Recibir a Cristo por primera vez debe tener un efecto duradero en la dirección de la vida de su hijo. La mejor preparación antes del primer Día de la Comunión que puede dar a su hijo es la sistencia regular a la misa.
Edad para la preparación y la recepción de la Primera Comunión: 2do grado o más grande, y por lo menos UN año de formación catequética inmediata ANTES de la preparación para el sacramento y estar preparado para la Primera Reconciliación
